Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Luxury travel for both business and leisure segment, it will grow over the next 12 months, according to the results of the survey issued by the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The survey was aimed at members of the Club of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the luxury brand's customer recognition program. Forty-one percent of respondents expected the number of disposable income in the following year, 11 percent said they expect to see substantial growth.

The club are members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World in the high net worth, frequent travelers and are well placed to provide insight into the behavior of affluent consumers. More than half of respondents have a household income over $ 100,000 (58 percent) and, overall, one third have incomes over $ 200,000.

Thirty-one percent of the members who responded to the survey spend three weeks staying at the hotel every year, and 10 percent will remain over 30 nights in hotels on vacation each year. Thirteen percent of respondents to stay in the hotel business for more than 30 nights each year.

The survey was coordinated by the PricewaterhouseCoopers, and began to assess the current consumer sentiment, and gain insights into travel plans for the next 12 months, following the recent global economic downturn. The club has more than 7,500 members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World responded to the survey.

Frequency of travel is one of the most important sign of recovery, growing 41 percent of respondents revealed that they are planning to go on holiday with four or more times this year, and nearly half (45 percent) saying they are going to travel four or more times in the business. Nearly a quarter (23 percent) said that this means an increase in business travel over the next 12 months.
